A new ranking table of world broadband speeds has just been released and it puts New Zealand in 30th position in the world… which is pretty solid when you consider the makeup of our geography and the numbers of broadband connections on rural or satellite technology.

News just breaking in the broadband world that four companies have received warnings from the Commerce Commission as they are considered to have breached the Fair Trading Act.

The ultra fast broadband revolution continues at pace! In the latest update released today from the Communications Minister Simon Bridges, we learnt that the first phase of the UFB rollout programme is now close to 80 per cent complete.

It was announced earlier this week that Adrian Pickstock, Chief Executive Officer of The Interactive Advertising Bureau of New Zealand (IABNZ) has joined the judging panel of the inaugural Broadband Compare Awards.

Last week saw the Communications Minister Simon Bridges welcome the start of the Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) build in Picton, Horotiu, Thames, Dargaville and One Tree Point, as the extension to the Government’s UFB programme gathers even more pace.

Broadband Compare is now ONE whole year old!  ...and what a year it has been with over 300,000 comparisons since launch!
