Skinny’s whole reason for being is to strip everything back, so you only pay for stuff you actually want at super low prices. It’s based on a model called common sense. Skinny broadband only does award winning mobile and broadband, and it’s all prepay.
Skinny Mobile is a division of Spark New Zealand Trading Limited, and Skinny happily uses Spark's 4G network.

We’re very fortunate that the big Universities in New Zealand are now all fibre broadband enabled. All well and good when on campus… but what about in your digs? Check out these Student broadband deals for 2018
Internet providers in New Zealand offer different connection options to broadband subscribers. These different broadband options are ADSL, VDSL, Cable, Fibre, and now Fixed Wireless.

Appalling customer service. Takes then a week to reply to an email even if you reply 5 minutes after they have sent you one. Also takes an hour over the phone to be put through with someone that knows nothing at all about broadband...

It took around 2.5 months to get UFB to our devices however we moved from ADSL to UFB, we were on a cross leased section so had a few consents to go through. The ping and the speeds are awesome
very good consistent speeds on over 100MB over wifi and ping around 2-4 upload over 20MB over wifi
skinny doesn't offer many extras e.g internet TV services but that is fine with me.

All broadband plans and providers in NZ offer extremely expensive products and to be honest quite arrogant personal approach (like elsewhere in NZ anyway). The prices compare to those from so called 3-th world countries. Anyway nothing like what we would like to be seen as - developed world.
The advice and approach from broadbandcompare.co.nz was surprisingly nice and polite - thank you.
I have not started using it yet. I went for 40GB, 40NZD a months plan and purchsed that over expensive modem for 99NZD. God help that it at least does the job satisfactory!
Over expensive, pure rip-off, like all the other offers. Obviously NZ needs open market, free and healthy (no "mafia") competitors.

Was fast with connection date and change over. Was mislead to what you could do. Their network is NATed. so you will get a internal IPv4 address from their network not a actual external address. So forwarding rules or a dmz on your router are redundant. i had my own vpn and plex server which i cannot access externally now. So if you host your own development web server or anything avoid them.
Fast and affordable
Internal NAT.
No External Address
3-4 internal hops till it gets out to external addresses.

Been a month we've been signed up with Skinny still haven't got a connection. Communication has been ridiculously poor. Just been informed that instead of an install date next week it's in July. 2 months from now. Skinny has done nothing to offer us compensation while we wait be it reimbursement of mobile data costs or waiving of fees. Disgusted with service and looking for other providers. Basically do not want to give them any money anymore.
Cheap plan
Disgusting serivce

Have just set up my broadband modem that operates on 4G cellular. Compared to my old ADSL it is incredibly faster and easy to use. Early days, but I reckon its the way to go for residential subscribers having adequate coverage/signal
As we are low users, approx 15GB per month, having 40GB for $40 compares very favourably with the $75 of our previous ISP.
One big plus of the modem is that the WAN wireless coverage is EXTREMELY good, so connectivity o ...read more
Instead of making a cuppa to fill in time whilst websites loaded, the speed of this modem means less fill in time, as a consequence less cuppas!

Wireless broadband.
I have been most impressed with speeds and consistency. I stream about 90 gigs from UK and USA and quality has been great. My NZ sports from internet have been a joy.
None. It's better than I expected. Nu

Excellent speed and flexibility of contract
Caps are a thing of the past on wired connections, but wireless still cap data consumption so your NFlix binge needs to be on SD or you'll soon run out
