Are VDSL broadband providers in NZ actually delivering speeds that are similar to what they advertise? Let’s try to figure it out.
According to the latest Truenet.nz report, the speed differences for NZ websites continue to show a wide spread. All ISPs are able to deliver similar speeds for technology, but the difference is how fast each service downloads a range of popular websites in NZ and overseas varies.
One standout example on the copper network is Voyager VDSL. The Voyager VDSL service in Augustwas actually slower for NZ surfing speeds than some ADSL speeds. Similarly with International surfing speeds, but this time Slingshot VDSL is slower than some ADSL speeds.
Also, let’s not forget about prices. Whilst speed is of course very important it is not essential to everyone so you can make your decisoon combined with the cost for that service.
